Just like all of your children's other classes, music has standards that must be accomplished at each grade level, more than many people believe there to be! As of December of 2015, the Arts as a collective are nationally considered a core subject as part of a well-rounded education, required for students to take through fifth grade, and required to be offered in all other grades. That means your students are actually graded and tested in music, not that they weren't before, on the state and national level.
